Over the Easter weekend BODY88 received clarification that Remedial Massage Therapists in WA are permitted to provide professional services at this time. This information was provided by the WA Police Force Liaison for the COVID-19 Response and Massage & Myotherapy Australia Association.
WA Police Force Liaison to State Health Incident Coordination Centre | Covid 19
In Western Australia, massages that are provided through professional services like physiotherapists, remedial massage therapists and myotherapists are not currently prohibited by the Closure and Restriction (Limit the Spread) Directions made by the State Emergency Coordinator on 7 April 2020.
Keeping inline with government regulations BODY88 have implemented the following;
- Remedial Massage treatments limited to 30 minute blocks,
- Gaps between appointments have been increased as to remove client to client interaction,
- Adequate time for sterilisation between clients,
- Completion of the COVID-19, government provided, Infection Control training package.
In the interest of public safety please re-frame from making appointments if in the last 14 days you have arrived in WA or have had contact with a person who has arrived to WA.
